Lisa Tribble, of Mabelvale, and Colbie Jones, of Stuttgart, have been elected to serve on the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council (AUFC) board of directors.
Tribble brings to the board and organization her more than 35 years in the arboriculture field. She served 30 years in the Electric Cooperatives Right of Way Department before beginning her marketing role at Vermeer MidSouth five years ago. Tribble encourages arborists to certify with ASTI, TCIA and join their state’s urban forestry council.
Jones will serve on the board providing AUFC with communications and marketing strategies to further AUFC’s mission and efforts across the state. She currently serves as a marketing account executive for Mangan Holcomb Partners and is the vice president of professional development for the Arkansas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Jones previously assisted with implementing public relations efforts to raise awareness of the council’s second annual Natural State Tree Climbing Championship.
“Myself and our current board members are excited to welcome our new appointees to help further AUFC’s conservation efforts for urban and community trees,” said Anthony Whittington, AUFC board president. “Their combined experience will help us reach more Arkansas communities, and share the value of good urban forest policies and management.”
Additionally, the board elected Jeremy Williams, of Fayetteville, to serve as the new vice president. Williams has been a certified arborist since 2009 and a certified climber specialist since 2010. He is the only ISA board certified master arborist in Arkansas and is the owner of Tree Climbers LLC based in Fayetteville. Williams completed his apprenticeships through the International Society of Arboriculture. As a competitive tree climber, he won the Natural State Tree Climbing Championship in 2018.
